Terminology

Many terms are used to describe transgendered individuals and their activities, and indeed there are numerous "levels" of transgender. This section attempts to define the terms as used within this website.

TG Transgender A Grab-bag term for any activity involving masquerading as the opposite sex
  T-Girl General term for any male-to-female transgender individual
  Tranny Pejorative slang term applied to any male-to-female transgender individual

TS Transsexual Transsexual people identify as, or desire to live and be accepted as, a member of the gender opposite to that assigned at birth
  Drag A term applied to clothing and make-up worn on special occasions for performing or entertaining as a hostess, stage artist or at an event
  Hermaphrodite An individual having a mixture of male and female physical characteristics
  Transition The medical process of permanently changing appearance from one sex to the other.
  Passing A person's ability to be accepted or regarded as a member of the sex or gender with which they identify.
  Read The original gender of the person has been detected.
